PRODUCT FAQ
Check out our Frequently Asked Questions if you have any queries regarding SolaRadiance®.
1. What is the life of the bulb?
Approximately 15,000 hours.
2. Why use rechargeable batteries vs. regular batteries?
Use rechargeable batteries to greatly decrease the need for battery replacement. You should not have to replace the rechargeable battery more than once or twice per year. Regular batteries (alkaline) should not be used in a rechargeable planter. These batteries have the potential to become damaged and may leak harmful compounds into the planter.
3. Where can I purchase SolaRadiance®?
A DIY Planter Kit can be purchased online at lowes.com and will be delivered in 2-3 days via FedEx. The kit comes complete with planter, solar light, potting soil and flowering combination of choice.
4. Can I leave my SolaRadiance® outside in the winter?
Cold weather will not hurt the planter or the solar light attachment. However, performance may diminish during short days or extremely cold temperatures of winter. Summer plants should be replaced with winter-tolerant varieties.
5. How much sunlight does my SolaRadiance® need?
The planter will need six hours of direct sunlight per day for maximum performance. Direct sunlight means unfiltered and/or un-shaded sunlight.
6. My SolaRadiance® broke. How do I replace it?
Please contact your SolaRadiance® retailer for refund information. Unfortunately, replacement parts are not readily available.
7. The plant in my SolaRadiance® died. How do I replace it?
There are many options for plant replacement in your SolaRadiance®. Lowe’s provides an easy and headache-free solution to replacing wilting plants. The Ready Refill™, available year-round with combinations for each season, can be dropped directly (container and all) into the planter or taken out of the container and planted into the solar planter. Another easy solution is replacing a dead plant with a 1.5 gallon (10”) hanging basket, which can also be dropped directly into the planter after removing the hanger. Hanging baskets can also be taken out of the temporary plastic planter and planted in the SolaRadiance® planter. For a more hands-on approach, you can purchase individual plants and potting soil from your local garden center. Using the DIY approach you can customize your plants to perfectly match the ambiance of your outdoor space.
Note: for plant replacement, trellis can be removed by unhooking the trellis clasp from the planters upper rim. It can be easily reattached by reversing the process.
8. What size container would I purchase to replace the plant in my SolaRadiance®?.
You have two container-size options to replace your plant. Lowe’s Ready Refill™, available year-round with combinations for each season, can be dropped directly (container and all) into the planter or taken out of the container and planted into the solar planter. Also, any 1.5 gallon (10”) hanging basket can be dropped directly into the planter by cutting off the hanger or by being replanted from the plastic container into the SolaRadiance® planter.
9. Where is the best place to use my SolaRadiance®?
A few suggestions are: patios, decks, porches, front steps, entryways, sidewalks, around pools. Visit our Pinterest page for additional placement recommendations.
10. What kind of elements can SolaRadiance® withstand?
SolaRadiance® can stay outside when it rains, but if there are high winds, it is advised to place your plant under a covering or indoors. During winter, extremely cold temperatures and shorter days can diminish performance.
